Happy 2017!! I cannot believe the New Year is already here! This year is definitely one of change, transition and new opportunities for me. I am still figuring out what all of that looks like, so my routine is a little shaken up at the moment. However, one thing that I cannot live without is exercise. I have had the opportunity to sweat a lot this year with friends at some new studios, so today I am sharing with you 5 reasons why you should try a local fitness studio near you. New year, new goals, new studio right?!
Recently I was invited to the HIIT List event at Hot Feet Fitness, a local fitness studio. I was joined by friends & fitness bloggers Portia and Sarah, as well as Kate & Liang. The event was for members of the studio, but they were kind enough to invite us along to join in on the fun. What a fun way to spend a Saturday night!
We got to try a hybrid of their 3 classes they offer at the studio, a 20 minute HIIT class, barre and yoga. Hot Feet is a warm studio, which feels so good this time of year. It also means you sweat!! I really enjoyed all 3 workouts. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the HIIT class 🙂
5 Reasons To Try A Local Fitness Studio
1) Variety of Workouts
You can’t change your body if you don’t challenge it. If you are new to working out or have been exercising for a long time, a new/different workout at a fitness studio will help you challenge your body in new ways. This can help you jumpstart weight loss, push thru a plateau or get in better shape. Depending on the studio offerings, you could also take different classes to challenge yourself in new ways.
If you have plans to make it to a class, it is more likely the workout will happen. How many times have you been at home on a Saturday morning thinking, I should really go to the gym, but it never happens. If you schedule a class, you have to go!
3) Push You Harder
Do you have a hard time motivating yourself to workout? Try a class at a local studio. The instructor and class environment helps push you thru a hard workout. When you are working out alone, it can be tempting to skip a set or cut your workout short. In a class setting, it is much harder to do that.
Workout classes are FUN! The music, the people, the instructors. There is a great sense of community in studios and group fitness classes. They motivate you to go on days you just don’t want to (see #2) and you always feel better afterwards! I always have fun at a class. The only workout you regret is the one you didn’t do.
5) Workout Buddies
Besides meeting new people at the studio, you can easily invite your friends for a girls day/night. That was so much fun about the HIIT List event, I got to hang with my girls and sweat on a Saturday night. Sweating is more fun with friends, so bring one to the studio with you or make some new friends in class!
