I drove down from Seattle the morning of the race, so it made for a very early morning but it is doable. Access to the start line is so easy at this race, which I love. There is a huge field available for parking and lots of people directing cars and getting people parked. Each race has a separate start with the 10K starting last. Before I knew it, it was our turn and we were off!
The course is flat and gorgeous. There is very one small hill, but the rest is flat and an easy run. The 10K has the most views of flowers, at least it has more than the half marathon did last year. The flowers were late blooming this year, but there were still plenty to see. I loved the peacefulness and greenery along this course.
After you cross the finish line you can go get a beer, some BBQ and chill for as long as you want. There is music and plenty of room to hang out, it’s like a party! As I said last year, even if you don’t drink beer or can’t drink it (like me), this race is still so much fun and worth running.
ALSO –> be sure to stop by Red Leaf Coffee on your way out!! They serve up delicious organic coffee, have every milk option you could imagine, and you can get chocolate syrup (like in a mocha) that is only sweetened with stevia!! They also have amazing gluten free menu items.
