We Put the RUN in Brunch!

Two of my favorite things are running and brunch, so when I found out there was a run in Seattle that combined the two, of course I HAD to run it. The run took place last weekend, and my sister and I put the RUN in bRUNch!

Ironically enough, I won a pair of tickets to the Brunch Run 5K in a giveaway on Carleeh’s blog.  How cool is that?! The run takes place at Magnuson Park in Seattle. It is a 5K course that is gorgeous and pretty flat. The views of the water are amazing!

This was a laid back race for me, just going out to have fun. My sister had just twisted her ankle, so we took it easy with some walk and picture breaks. Carleeh stayed with us most of the time too, so we had lots of fun over the 3 miles.

Once we finished, it was back to the hangar for brunch bites, booze and tunes. Let’s be real, this was the part we were ALL looking forward too. The run was fun, but the brunch was where it was AT.

The run is put on by Seattle Magazine, and boy do they know how to throw a party!!! The best part was, all the proceeds went to benefit Northwest Harvest. This is an event you can feel good about!

There were brunch bites from 15 of Seattle’s best like Ellenos Greek Yoghurt, Verve Bowls (yay smoothie bowls!), biscuits, bagels and donuts! There was also the Boozy Brunch Garden, because of course brunch would not be complete without a mimosa!

I tried my first bloody mary in the boozy brunch garden, I thought it tasted like a sandwich haha. The mimosas were delicious though. Deschutes Brewery was there with all their brews and some fun brunch drinks like a Iced Mocha Porter. #WOAH. High Brew Coffee brought their delicious cold brew and Pressed Juicery was even there with some juice.

It was a FUN morning. The lines were kind of long and confusing for the brunch bites, but it wasn’t anything that couldn’t be handled with a little patience. Brunch bites, two drink tickets, a shirt and a swag bag were included in your race registration. If you brought friends who weren’t running or wanting more than 2 drinks, you could purchase drink tickets for $3 each.

This event was a lot of fun. So good to see friends, spend time with my sis & have some fun. Brunch just tastes better after a run. When I’m training for a race, I used to joke that I should start a tradition of brunch after a long run on the weekend. After this race, I decided that tradition is definitely a must 🙂
