Happy Friday! I don’t know how another week has already come and gone; time is flying! This week on the Friday Five, I’m sharing my 5 favorite treats with you. Looking at this list, most of them are pretty healthy, but like anything, should still be enjoyed in moderation.
Happy Fri-YAY! Today in partnership with Sweat Pink & Aftershokz, I am sharing with you the five things that make me feel empowered!
1. Good Tunes!
There is nothing like some good tunes to get you pumped up for a workout. My top 3 songs right now are: Gold – Kiiara, 679 – Fetty Wap & Remy Boyz, Let Me Love You – Justin Bieber & DJ Snake. Of course I LOVE to listen to these on my AfterShokz Trekz Titanium headphones! I especially love them on a run, because it allows me to be aware of my surroundings while running 🙂
2. Giving Back
Nothing is more empowering than giving back to your community, especially if it’s a cause that’s close to your heart. Different ways I do this is either by running a race that supports a charity that I am passionate about, volunteering for a non-profit organization like Union Gospel Mission. I encourage you to find something in your community that speaks to your heart and get involved!
3. Self Care
Self care is one of the best ways to feel empowered. It allows you to recharge and recharge yourself. It’s highly underrated. If you don’t currently partake in some sort of self care, you must give it a try. What does self care look like?! It could be yoga, meditation, running, working out, a massage, a manicure, spending time with friends or a quiet time for reading. Whatever recharges you and makes you happy! Think of it as ‘me’ time and make it a priority!
4. Inspiring threads!
What you wear can help empower you to get sweaty + strong! Grab a cute shirt with a motivational phrase or something that you feel like a rockstar in. Pick up a new pair of yoga pants or put on your favorites that you already own. If you like what you wear when you workout, you definitely workout harder!
5. Friends who inspire!
I am so thankful that I have so many friends who inspire me + empower me to be the best version of me. I have met some of the most amazing people thru fitness and they never cease to amaze me. I have so many amazing people that I could feature here, but to keep it short, I’d like to spotlight Katie and Sarah.
Katie works so hard as a P.A. in labor and delivery doing things I could never dream of. Every day, she brings saves lives and new lives into the world. She is one of my best friends, and is always there to listen. She grinds hard in the gym and at work & inspires me to keep going on some of my hardest days.
Sarah is an amazing mom who makes motherhood look easy. I look up to her so much and hope to be a mom like her someday. She is a pilates instructor, personal trainer and one of the sweetest girls I have ever met. She inspires me to work hard and never quit. Also – post baby body GOALS!!
Both these women inspire and empower me thru their love, support and friendship!
